Its been a couple of years since I created a new blog post list for you to enjoy.

1. Dear Taylor (Letters to War) (Volume 1)
Synopsis: Taylor Phillips was working as a barista in NYC the day the twin towers came crashing down. Seeing her city in shambles, coated in ash, and American lives lost, she enlisted to fight the War on Terror. Daniella Melo, a Rhode Island American History teacher, challenges her class to write letters to soldiers fighting overseas. With one name left and a student short, Daniella takes it upon herself to write letters to Private Taylor Phillips stationed in Afghanistan. Over the next two years, the women exchange letters, sharing stories of their daily lives: Daniella trailing after her rambunctious daughter, Jackie, and dealing with overeager seniors planning prom while Taylor trudges through sand and dirt, driving her humvee in cold deserts. Synopsis: Lance Corporal Lara Grayson, or Gray to her brothers, has been stationed at a base camp in Jelawur, Afghanistan. She’s a dog handler, her partner, a German Shepard named Zabba, tracks down Taliban insurgent fighters and IEDs. They take daily patrols, and when engaged in a firefight, they’re usually short lived. But not everyone on either side will come out alive. Tabatha Steel, a war reporter has been captured by the Taliban, and when the patrol rescue her and her cameraman, tension builds. Their meeting is a game changer in more ways than one. Their mission is to ruin the enemy maneuvering from place to place and setting up IEDs and to catch them in the act, and to establish friendships with the locals.
Synopsis: A story about two female Airman stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, one, Tyler, is gay, the other, Shenin, is straight. They are members of the same security force at the base and are friends long before Shenin finds out that Tyler is gay. Shenin finds she is not surprised by this news, and even though she has always dated men, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to Tyler. The story takes place in a time when Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) was still firmly in place, and because of that gays in the military have to be very careful. Tyler is hyper-aware of any impropriety that could cause her to lose her hard won military career; she also finds that it becomes more important to her to protect Shenin from not only getting into trouble with the military, but from traveling a path that could lead to disaster for them both.
4. Ask, Tell
Synopsis: Where can you turn when you’re caught in a crossfire of war and passion?Captain Sabine Fleischer is a skilled and dedicated U.S. Army surgeon deployed to a combat hospital in Afghanistan. She is also one of the thousands of troops who are forced to serve in silence because of the military’s anti-gay policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT).” Usually driven and focused, Sabine finds that battles raging both inside and outside the perimeter walls are making it more and more difficult for her to deal with her emotions. Dealing with loss and mortality, lack of privacy, sleep deprivation, loneliness and the isolation forced on her by “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” are all taking their toll. Plus, her long-term relationship with a civilian back home is quickly becoming another casualty of war.

9. Never Let Go
Synopsis: For Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer, Finley Morris, life is good. She loves her job, is well respected by her peers, and has been given an opportunity to take her career to the next level. The only thing missing is the love of her life, who walked out, taking their daughter with her, seven years earlier. When Finley gets a call from her ex, saying their teenage daughter is coming to spend the summer with her, she’s floored. 10. Second Chance
Synopsis: After an tragic attack on her convoy, Marine Corps Staff Sergeant, Darien Hollister, must learn to live without her sight. When an experimental procedure allows her to see again, opening up the possibility for her to go back to the career that is deeply ingrained in her, Darien is torn, knowing someone had to die in order for this to happen. She embarks on a journey to personally thank the donor’s family, but is too stunned to tell them the truth. Mixed emotions stir inside of her as she slowly gets to the know the people that feel like so much more than strangers to her. When the truth finally comes out, Darien walks away, taking the second chance that she’s been given to go back to the only life she’s ever known, but she’s not the only one with a second chance at life.
