The New Year is here and I don’t know if I am quite ready yet. Hopefully you are ready to take on this new year. I can’t believe another year has passed. I was looking over some of my old blog posts from last year and it amazing how fast time flies. I really can’t believe I have been blogging for four years here on OMG Lesbian Army Wife Blog ready.
I got to thinking, what are some resolutions I want to to accomplish year? There are lots of things you as a military spouse can be ready for. Every day is a new opportunity to pick up where you left off yesterday.
However, last year my take on resolutions was don’t make any make goals. I believe goals are are more powerful way to accomplish the things you want. Ask yourself, what do you want to accomplish this year? What goals do you have? Life can be messy and uncertain that is for sure. By setting clear goals and eliminating unfruitful resolutions you can accomplish anything you want. Be true to yourself and have a clear expectation of what you set out to achieve this year. It’s easy just make a list of the top things you want out of this year.
My top 3 goals for 2019
- I want to do better with my finances and pay off my debit.
How can I accomplish this goal daily or monthly?
Daily – I can choose/decide if I really need to purchase and item. Is it a need or want? I just have to be careful and mindful to reach my goal.
Monthly – Pay my credit card, bills, and student loans on time. Pay more than the minimum payment or pay twice in one month
Extra Credit: Read books on personal finance or see a professional financial planner.
2. I want to keep excelling at work.
How can I accomplish this goal daily or monthly?
Daily – Keep performing my tasks as assigned. Be a team playing and learn to get along with my co-workers.
Monthly – Check in with my boss and see what needs to be done. Ask how I am doing and what I need to improve on. Keep an eye out for projects I can talk the lead in and showcase my abilities.
Extra Credit: Take classes in my career field to further my knowledge.
3. I want to be a better communicator.
How can I accomplish this goal daily or monthly?
Daily – Be straight forward about my ideas and get to the point of my thoughts. Be kind and patient to those around me. I don’t want to be a know it all.
Monthly – Learn to pick the best time to talk or express my thoughts. Think now about what is being said and talk later have gathering all the facts.
Extra Credit: Listen more carefully to those around me.
Really its not that hard to make New Year’s goals instead of resolutions and stick to them. Anytime you set your mind to it you can accomplish anything you want. I created a free printable to help you start off your year right.
