LGBTQ Resources from my Readers to You

-LGBTQ Resources from my Readers to You

I wanted to do a blog post dedicated my readers and the resources they offer.

From Alex Johnson

I aspire to be a useful resource for our veterans when they return home. Veterans with combat exposure and multiple deployments can result in using drug and alcohol to counteract PTSD. In fact, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs stated that more than 20 percent of veterans with PTSD also suffer from an addiction. That’s why your website is of such great importance. To do my part to help, I decided to join the community outreach team for substance abuse site,

Our free web guide is focused on educating people on all aspects of the recovery process: from selection of treatment center, to what you can expect during treatment, to entering back into a healthy and fulfilling life. Trained staff are available 24/7 to help people find an appropriate treatment center.

I feel that our site will help provide veterans and their families with information on the treatment options available across the country.

“I want to thank you for your dedication to the LGBTQ men and women that have served our country.”

From Monica Smith

Like countless others, I spent years hiding a big part of who I was, and a big reason why was because the people around me didn’t encourage me to truly embrace my whole self. This shame led to a long and difficult road, but I’m grateful to say that I finally feel like I’m on the right course. I’m not trying to blame others, and as an LGBTQ+ advocate, I hope you can understand what I mean, which is that support for and within our community is VERY important.

On that note, here are a few additional LGBTQ+ empowerment pieces I would like to share with your readers:

  1. What Not to Say When Your Child Comes Out as Transgender
  2. Why is LGBT Depression So Prevalent?
  3. The Ultimate Guide to LGBTQ Dating Safety
  4. The Parent, Educator & Youth Guide to LGBTQ Cyberbullying
  5. How to Create an LGBTQ-Friendly Neighborhood
  6. LGBTQ Comprehensive Guide to Drug Abuse

“I’m just trying to play a small part in supporting my community the way you already are. I appreciate you and all you do.”

From Barbara Lincoln

I thought you might enjoy hearing that my daughter was able to reference some of the information you’ve provided on your links page for her last school project on the U.S. military and veteran mental health awareness. I thought it was worth mentioning that Amanda also came across a fantastic article with a lot of useful information for active military families, including financial resources, benefits for children, military spousal assistance programs and scholarship opportunities.

Financial Resources and Discounts for Military Families

I thought this might be interesting to you and those looking for some guidance here, so I’ve listed it below if you’d like to review! I would love to show Amanda if you find this is something you’re able to include. I’m sure she’d love to know if she could contribute something to your mission.

“I wanted to say that you’ve done a great job here, thank you for taking the time to share this information with the public. I think your efforts are probably helping a lot of other people!”

From Kayla Johnson

I wanted to let you know about the work my team at Tuck Sleep is up to. Our primary mission is promoting sleep health awareness, and most recently, we’ve explored veterans’ unique sleep needs. We’ve looked at how a history of trauma can change sleep patterns, how veterans can deal with insomnia and other sleep disorders, and which companies give veterans’ discounts.

You can check out some of our work here:

“I noticed that you have some great information for military veterans on your site.”
